Use Tissues to Cover Your Mouth When You Cough or Sneeze

Strep Throat can be transmitted through droplets of fluids that make their way into the air when a sick person coughs or sneezes. To prevent this, one should always make it a point to cover their mouth when they do. Use a tissue when doing so and make sure that you throw it in the trash bin after use. The tissue captures the droplets, preventing them from contaminating others. By discarding them immediately, the chances of another person accidentally coming in contact with it is lessened.
Using a handkerchief doesn’t quite cut it. Droplets that contain Staphylococcus bacteria remain infectious and stay on the handkerchief’s surface for a while. These can still transfer onto your hands, increasing the likelihood of you spreading the disease. When another person comes into contact with your contaminated hands, they potentially can become infected.
