Chicago native Aja Evans was destined to be an athlete. With a champion swimmer for a dad, a track and field athlete for a mom, and an NFL player for a brother, it seemed it’s all in the genes. Not to be outdone, Aja became an All-American college track-and-field star, both as a sprinter and shot-putter, but when she failed to make it to the 2008 Olympics, she was urged by her mom to try something else. Enter Aja, 2013 USA Bobsled Rookie of the Year, and member of the U.S. Olympic Bobsled team. With a strong and powerful frame, she was a good fit, as shown by her appearance in the 2014 and 2018 Olympic Winter Games, bringing home the bronze in ’14 as a brakeman for pilot Jamie Greubel Poser.
