2014 WTA Newcomer of the Year Eugenie Bouchard finished the same year ranked 5th in the world, courtesy of semifinal appearances in both the Australian and French Open. The Canadian tennis player then followed that up with the WTA Most Improved Player award the next season and, together with her looks, was touted as one of the most marketable athletes in the world, inking deals with companies like Coca-Cola, Nike, and Aviva Canada. However, she fell out of form and slid down the rankings starting in 2015, when she suffered a concussion in the locker-room during the U.S. Open.
