Probably one of the better ways to get around if you insist on taking public transportation is to take the bus. Unfortunately, Mexico is behind when it comes to subways and metros, and they heavily rely on buses to get around. If you can manage it, you can take the bus too if you don’t want to spend too much on a private car or official taxi.
