We know this sounds incredibly crazy, but honestly, when in Cancun or anywhere in Mexico for that matter, never get kidnapped. We’re not trying to scare you, but the country is known as a ‘hotspot for abductions.’ Of course this doesn’t mean that you need to be wary of every single place you’re in but don’t make the mistake of going out at night, especially if you’re alone, to places that you’re unfamiliar or that are notorious for being a bit shady. Cancun has a thriving night life, one that is difficult to ignore, but always remember that there is danger lurking in many corners.
