Mexico is a beautiful country, but when traveling there, you always need to be aware of your surroundings and be wary of the people you are dealing with. Never hail down a cab from the street, especially when you are in the highly populated areas or major cities. Many cab drivers have a reputation of taking advantage of their passengers, especially ones that they know are tourists and unfamiliar with the area.
