When asked about how the Grandparents Scam works, one former scammer who has finally stopped his vile ways explained, “We target people over the age of 65, because they’re more gullible.” He then went on to say, “They’re at home. They’re more accessible.” To think that the scam is precisely aimed at older folks that have no way to protect themselves or really, just don’t know any better, is completely abhorrent.
