Lukyanova has a counterpart in Justin Jedlica, an American man who has garnered international attention for undergoing over 700 cosmetic procedures. His main inspiration is said to be Japanese anime and manga, and he also said that he took inspiration from Michael Jackson and Joan Rivers — but he finds it flattering nevertheless that people think he resembles Ken. When he met Lukyanova, he didn’t have such a great impression, saying, “Valeria has been my arch nemesis ever since we met each other.” He went on to say, “She’s interesting. I hate that people compare us, because she’s putting on the illusion of a mannequin. It is a little bit weird that she’s trying to be stoic, emotionless.” Perhaps that’s just her Russian upbringing?
