Lukyanova was born in a very traditional town in the Ukraine, where the concept of western Feminism may have been hostile to the general way of life. To be considered a good citizen, regardless of gender, you needed to get a job. You needed to grow up and have kids and teach them well. Lukyanova has decisively chosen not to have children, which is against the norms that she was brought up with. Feminists from the western world are enraged that someone would go out of their way to look like a doll that 99.99% of women look nothing like, perpetuating impossible standards of beauty rather than embracing what is natural, but Lukyanova hasn’t had much to say to them.
