For anyone to fashion themselves after a doll takes a lot of commitment, but also a certain amount of weirdness. Lukyanova certainly has both attributes in spades, as an article and documentary called her “Space Barbie” because she legitimately believes that she is a time-traveling spiritual guru whose purpose is to save the world from the clutches of superficiality and negative energy. And she thought the best way to do this was by looking like an idealized and impossible trope for women.
