Purple haze may be the title of one of Jimi Hendrix’s songs, as well as a popular marijuana strain these days, but one look at the photo and you’d think you were standing right in the middle of it. Just one look and it’s easy to assume that Frank Zappa got his affection for purple from his very funky parents. And while his style seems a tad bit extreme, for the 70s, he was just another musician with whimsical tastes. If this photo didn’t exist as proof of that, we’re not sure we’d believe you if you told us that someone actually lived like this.
