You’d be surprised to know that “Jake” from State Farm is actually a man named Jake Stone in real life. Aside from being your everyday dude, Stone also really works for State Farm. He starred in the commercial because one of his friends in the marketing department suggested it. He, of course was hesitant because he didn’t any acting experience. But it seemed to work because the script fit his persona so perfectly. In the story, a husband is caught talking to someone on the phone at 3 in the morning. His wife takes the phone and asks, “What are you wearing?” Jake, simply replied, “Khakis.” It was huge success and he immediately became a household name.
