The fever normally means your body is fighting an infection. Doctors will do tests to figure out what is causing the fever so they can decide how to treat the problem. Aside from what the doctor will recommend, you can do these things to bring down a fever: (1) take ibuprofen or acetaminophen, (2) cold compresses, (3) give yourself a sponge bath with lukewarm water, (4) hydrate regularly with cool water, (5) wear light, cool clothing.
