Nagging Cough

Source: https://medimetry.com

Normally a cough is not a sign of something serious, but one that hangs around for weeks can be. People with low CD4 counts will more likely get a lung infection called pneumocystis pneumonia (PCP), which can cause dry cough, shortness of breath, and always make you feel tired. Don’t take this lightly, as it can be deadly. You may be needed to be hospitalized for diagnosis and treatment. Weak immune systems are more likely to get tuberculosis (TB). If you get TB, most likely you will have chest pain, fever, cough up phlegm, and lose weight. Antibiotics will help but may take several months. Remember to see a doctor right away if you have a nagging cough.
