Never Wear Your Shoes Indoors

When visiting someone’s home or a temple, you should never wear your shoes inside. Since shoes are used outside, they are considered very unclean, and they don’t want any dirt from the outside entering their home, as it should be really. If you happen to arrive at an establishment and aren’t sure whether you should remove your shoes or not, just follow suit and take off your footwear. It would be better to not make a mistake than to be the only one being disrespectful.
