Never Make Assumptions About Two Men Holding Hands

If you see two men holding hands while walking around in India, never assume that they are gay. While some places in India are still very homophobic, it’s not uncommon for both men and women alike to walk around holding hands as a sign of friendship. There is nothing sexual about it all. And while people’s sexual orientation is deemed a personal choice, it’s still not openly expressed in all areas of India. But don’t automatically think that two individuals hand in hand are a couple, nor make any comments in case you offend them in the process.
