Of course we don’t mean to generalize, but when you first get to India, never trust all the locals immediately. Depending on where you are in India, you will notice that their caste system is highly prominent and the rich and the poor are easy to spot, with the homeless sitting on every corner. Don’t be tricked by those that don’t have your best interest at heart, as many will try to trick you so that they can either rob you or victimize you in some other way. Being a foreigner is always going to make you a target so don’t make it easier for them by being unaware.
