Regardless of where you are in India, never dress provocatively. Indians are quite conservative with the way they dress, and like to keep most of their body covered. It’s considered important to present yourself properly, and more often than not, people are judged by their appearance. This is especially true for females, where the way they look tends to be scrutinized by everyone that sees them.
