Don’t Rely On Public Transportation

Unless you’re staying exclusively in the theme parks, don’t think that you won’t need a rental car.  Orlando is known for a lot of good things but public transportation is not one of them.  In fact, the city ranks as one of the worst for commuting in transit.  The best option is to rent a car even if the city is also known for heavy traffic, particularly around the major theme parks, which can be time-consuming and inconvenient.  There is a reason why Orlando is referred to as a car city, as there’s really no way getting around it.  Just drive carefully, especially if you’re not familiar with the area.
