Don’t Ignore The Hurricanes

It is said that on the average, there’s only about one or two hurricanes that make landfall on the eastern coast of the US, and only about 40% of those hit Florida.  The state even enjoyed 10 years without hurricanes after 2005’s hurricane Wilma, until hurricane  Hermine made landfall in 2016.  This means it would be rare for you to need to worry about hurricanes, and residents may even reassure you that the city is outside the hurricane zone, it would be best not to get caught unprepared.  If your visit happens to fall during the hurricane season which is from the start of June until late November, make sure to keep abreast of the news in the area and have a survival kit ready, just in case.
