Never Step On The Extra Step In The Temple Entrance

When visiting a temple in Taiwan, there are a number of rules that need to be followed. But one particular rule that may seem a tad bit stranger than the others is to never step on the extra step when entering or leaving the temple. Although there isn’t really much of an explanation as to way, it’s just a rule that they follow. This step is the one that is visible from the outside, separating the inside and the outside of the temple from one another.
