This is a common mistake of most tourists that think Vietnam is very affordable. While it is, not asking about prices and establishing an agreement about it will give the opportunity to take advantage of you. For instance a glass of juice may cost 15,000 dong yet your bill will reflect 100,000 dong. Always make sure about money matters. Make sure you are clear when asking for prices, and that you are understood.  Not all will try to take advantage of you, but it is better to be prepared. Be courteous to the servers or stall owners. Give them respect, you most likely will have earned theirs.
