What happened to Keely Favell is not an isolated case. Though hers might be an extreme case, most women have had to go through major surgery due to ovarian cyst complications. Stars like Susan Sarandon were no exemption. Doctors told Sarandon she would not be able to conceive due to endometriosis, but she beat the odds and gave birth to 3 children. Whoopi Goldberg is an advocate for raising awareness about endometriosis as she is a survivor of the disease. Many other Hollywood personalities have spoken out about endometriosis for awareness and education.
