Women are accused of being overly dramatic about their period. It has been a cultural joke to say that women transform into a totally different person during their menstrual cycle. Men do not understand the pain the fairer sex go through on a monthly basis. Susan Sarandon said during her speech at the Blossom Ball, “Suffering should not define you as a woman.” To the men, she said, “Help remove the taboos and the loneliness surrounding this disease. This is a big opportunity for you guys to show that you care and to be a real man.” Just like how Jaime was with Keely: he stayed by her side through all those dreadful 4 years. He made sure Keely did not carry the burden alone.
