Sometimes having your mugshot on file is the means for the police to make sure you come to court. Lucas William Vincent was set to show up for a hearing on an assault charge, but he didn’t. So, the local police shared his mugshot which looks like someone had a bit of a Van Gogh moment with Vincent’s left ear. His mugshot was shared over 18,000 times, with one comment that said, “He’s going to cop an ear full when his mother finds out about this” received 42,000 likes. If the New Zealand police posted his picture in earnest and really wanted people’s help in finding this man, or if they posted it because they knew he would be dragged (by the ear) through the mud, we will never know.
