A Premiere For the Ages

As the saying goes, history tends to repeat itself and this photo is proof of exactly that! During the opening weekend of Star Wars sometime in 1977, alongside a few other cinemas, one lucky theater managed to opt for the rights to premiere this epic movie and it paid right off. Funnily enough, Star Wars was actually considered a kiddie movie but it wasn’t childish enough to keep these space nerds and geeks from lining up to see it. Don’t get us wrong, we’re every bit as nerdy and geeky as these dudes, we’re just lucky enough to not get teased for wanting to watch a “kiddie space movie.” Of course after watching the movie, nobody bothered to call it childish any longer.
