One of the most famous squares in Prague, Wenceslas Square is a flourishing locale filled with hotels, restaurants, apartments, bars, and nightclubs, and serves as the conventional medium for celebrations, demonstrations, and other public gatherings. Named after St. Wenceslas, the patron saint of Bohemia, the historic square is also known for its famous landmarks: the National Museum Building and the statue of St. Wenceslas atop his horse. As the center of business communities, it attracts a major host of pedestrians, with tourists mostly frequenting the site.
