26. Bored Ape Yacht Club #8817 – 3.4 million dollars

The highest selling bored ape to date. This particular ape was auctioned at Sotheby’s Metaverse as part of their Native Digital Collection. Bought by Brandon Buchanan because he explained that he had already been looking for one of the very rare Gold Apes and there were very few for sale. There are in fact less than 1 percent of the 10,000 Bored Apes that have gold fur, so it is a rare piece indeed.
