Tea is central to the national psyche in Great Britain. Expect to always be offered a cup of tea. It is a polite welcoming gesture, especially in someone’s home. Refusing a cup will signify that you do not feel welcome, and will embarrass your host. Plus they will consider you to be rude and impolite. And, don’t ask for iced tea instead.
