DC is just as expensive as New York and the property taxes are no joke either. In fact, people who live in Washington move to the Big Apple because while the cost of living is high, they’re away from all the political drama that surrounds that city. For them, it’s actually the most toxic thing about the place. Unless you’re set on a career in politics, expect to break the bank quite often when you live in DC. Otherwise, it’s best to pursue your life’s dreams elsewhere.
