Everyone has had an experience with squeaky hinges, from doors, cabinets and windows. If you can’t stand that high-pitched squeaking sound, no need to fret. Just get that Vaseline out, get a dab of that petroleum jelly, apply it on the squeaking hinge, and you are done. That squeaking door will be quiet. If you are wondering why this would work; just remember that Vaseline is pure petroleum jelly, which is basically a thick mineral oil. It is a quick fix that will only take minutes and won’t require you to go to the hardware store.

However, Vaseline is not a real lubricating grease, so it will thin out when some heat is applied. So, when summer comes around, the heat will most likely melt the petroleum jelly and those hinges will start squeaking again.
