Some parents are really oblivious to dangers when it comes to their kids. This lady seems so engrossed with something, she does not even realize her kid could suffocate. Maybe she has a lot on her mind, what to buy, how to pay the bills, etc., but there is no excuse for this uncaring behavior. Hopefully other customers would step in and call attention to the danger. The other lady in the picture seems to notice, maybe she will do something about it. This clueless mother should take lessons in proper parenting. It is typical for people to mind their own business, especially in the US. But sometimes you just have to butt in, particularly if it involves child safety.
