As the group of kids looked up into the balcony, they saw a bunch of dads staring down at them. Clare’s boyfriend, James, had said that the dance felt weird and quite awkward, and there were way more chaperones this year than there were in the prior years. Aside from a lot of students just standing around in the middle of the dance floor instead of dancing, there were tons of adult males gawking at the kids from the balcony of the room.
