Another Beatle member bites the dust. Harrison died of lung cancer at his friend’s and fellow Beatle’s home, Paul McCartney. Harrison was known as the “silent Beatle”, and was the lead guitarist of the Fab Four. Although most of their hits were composed by Lennon and McCartney, Harrison also contributed with compositions such as Taxman, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, and Here Comes the Sun, to name a few. After the Beatles disbanded, he released several best selling singles and albums as a solo performer. He survived a knife attack by an intruder at his home 2 years before his death. His remains were cremated, and the ashes scattered according to Hindu tradition in a private ceremony in the Ganges and Yamuna rivers in India. He left and estate over 100 million pounds.
