Steve Jobs is remembered as the co-founder of Apple, Inc., and was its chairman and CEO for some time. He was also the chairman and majority shareholder of Pixar, a member of The Walt Disney Company’s board of directors following their acquisition of Pixar, and held several other high positions in other companies.The successful businessman kept improving his net worth by continuously revolutionizing the tech industry. But his health did not improve, he was diagnosed with cancer in 2003. In mid-2004, he announced to his employees that he had a cancerous tumor in his pancreas. He resisted the doctor’s recommendations for medical intervention and relied on alternative medicine instead. It seemed his decision may have led to an earlier death, but that is not certain. Eventually, as his health was deteriorating, he resigned as Apple’s CEO and named Tim Cook as his successor, on August 24, 2011. Jobs died on October 5, 2011, in his home in Palo Alto, California. Apple and Pixar made announcements regarding his death. Respects via statements were given by Jobs’ co-founder of Apple, Steve Wozniak, President Obama, George Lucas, Bill Gates, and other respected people in their fields.
