The Black Dahlia – Elizabeth Short

Elizabeth Short, better known for her monicker “the Black Dahlia,” was an aspiring actress from Boston whose naked body was found mutilated in L.A. in January of 1947. Her body was found split at the waist, which was the reason why her case became highly-publicized. Over 150 suspects were investigated for her murder, but none of them were arrested or charged. One of those men happen to be Redditor /forum4um’s grandfather, who is seen in this picture with no other than the Black Dahlia herself.
Aside from being severed in half, Elizabeth Short’s body was found completely drained of blood. It was concluded that whoever did the horrible thing, washed her corpse before dumping her in the vacant lot she was found in. Her face was also slashed across her mouth from ear to ear, and parts of her flesh had been sliced away.
