Long considered as hip-hop’s pioneering females, Dana Elaine Owens, more popularly known as Queen Latifah, is a world-renowned rapper, actress, singer, songwriter and producer. Yes, name it, and the Queen has probably done it all. Born in New, Jersey, Owens got her stage name “Latifah,” from an Arabic book she found when she was 8. The monicker stands for “delicate” or “sensitive,” and has been her showbiz nickname from the day she hit the Tommy Boy Records studio in 1989.

Among the awards she has received throughout her career include a Grammy, a Primetime Emmy, a Golden Globe, three Screen Actors Guild Awards, two NAACP Image awards and an Academy Award nomination.

She makes it to the list, thanks to a Twitter user’s sharing of a photograph that shows Queen Latifah with a man he claims to be his uncle.
