Once again, Sports Illustrated went a tad bit too far when they decided to mix swimsuits and indigenous cultures in what many believed were in ‘demeaning ways.’ The magazine decided that they wanted to take photos on all 7 continents around the world with the people that represented them alongside their swimsuit models, but many felt like it was all done in bad taste. Many just felt that it was a poor portrayal of what many of the actual countries are truly like. One such critic even shared that the “editorial decision makes the ‘native people’ tantamount to exotic props.”
