These days, everything is about inclusion, which is how it should be. Again in 2018, the SI swimsuit edition chose a ton of different models in order ‘to feature women from all walks of life.’ One such model was amputee Brenna Huckaby, who happens to be a snowboarder and Paralympian who sadly lost her leg back in 2010 to bone cancer. Not only was Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition the first to feature an amputee, but most of the responses were incredibly positive and Huckaby was more than happy to ‘promote body positivity with her shoot.’
