You could mistake this breed for a small horse as they are tall, and can weigh an average of 160 pounds.  Most are taller than Great Danes, but not as heavy. They are not massive, actually kind of lean. They have a strong prey drive being a familiar trait of hounds, and like to chase smaller animals. Proper training and socialization are needed to control their basic instincts of hunting, and they need a lot of space to exercise. Not good for indoors. You will limit the exercise they need. Best if you live near the woods or have a large lawn. Excellent guard dogs as well.
