Natural born protectors, Akitas are extremely brave and take guard duty seriously. This breed requires expert training to avoid being aggressive. They will respond to any challenge from any animal or man. They will have a strong bond with their owners when trained by them, as they won’t respond well to other trainers. Very few dogs are as loyal as the Akita. But they can get depressed if their owner is gone a long time. This breed is not meant for the travelling salesman-type of owner.
