Due to its location, Bora Bora is very exclusive and quite hard to get to. There are limited flights going there, and all of them are from Tahiti. Because of this, don’t think a vacation in these islands, even a short one, will be cheap as the food and accommodation is quite expensive. This is because most of everyday items like food, drinks, or building materials and other supplies need to be imported into the islands. There might be “budget” accommodations, but these are not exactly like those you will find in Southeast Asia. Almost everything is regulated, including the tour operators. There may be lots of seafood, but everything else is mostly imported.
