Don’t Visit The Christ The Redeemer Statue On a Cloudy Day

One of Brazil’s most famous landmarks is its Christ the Redeemer Statue on the summit of Mount Corcovado in Rio de Janeiro. Completed in 1931, it stands 98 feet tall (30 meters) and its arms stretched out horizontally reaches 92 feet (28 meters). Even tourists who are not religious still enjoy visiting the popular site, which is also a great place to witness the incredible vistas of Rio de Janeiro. One huge tip—check the weather before making the trip up to Mount Corcovado. If it mentions anything about being cloudy, take our advice and plan your visit for another day when clear skies abound. When the clouds are in the sky, you won’t see anything up there, and the trip could be a waste of time. On a clear and sunny day, however, the views are spectacular.
