The Chicago dog is a famous attraction of the city, and the residents are ultra-proud of it the way it is served. The wiener is an all-beef frankfurter topped with yellow mustard, chopped white onions, bright green sweet pickle relish (or at times whole pickles), a dill pickle spear, tomato slices, pickled sport peppers, and a dash of celery salt. Practically the whole garden, and that’s as good as it gets. Asking for ketchup is a sin, and locals will not take kindly to it. Not even funny as a joke. Most vendors will not even have a bottle of ketchup in their stalls. If you like ketchup with your hot dog, stay away from Chicago, lest you want your face to end up like hamburger.
