Kelly Rutherford starred in the hit series Gossip Girl . You would think that she was making tons of money and sitting pretty, but you would be wrong. Unfortunately, certain circumstances gave her a net worth of only $1 million. Way below what she used to have in her bank account. She lost loads of money during a 6-year custody battle over her children. At the end of it all, the judge granted full custody to her German ex-husband, Daniel Giersch, with Kelly only permitted to visit the kids in France and Monaco. That should have devastated her, aside from the high litigation fees worth $1.4 million. The actress was forced to file for bankruptcy in 2013. She mentioned in an interview with Vanity Fair that divorce was just a racket to make money, and that her husband had unlimited funds. Well, money does talk the talk.
