Netflix’s Insatiable is a dark comedy – drama that’s based on a New York Times’ article entitled “The Pageant King of Alabama” by Jeff Chu. Considering highly controversial, the premise of the show revolves around petitions to end fat-shaming. The main character, high school student Patty Bladell played by Debby Ryan, is bullied relentlessly for being fat. She loses weight after wiring her jaw shut and ends up skinny, coming back to school to take revenge on those that were mean to her. The show got two seasons but no one was truly surprised when the show got canceled quickly after that.
