Viewers first got a look at The Purge as a movie in 2013, which a number of people really enjoyed. So when a television series was created in 2018, USA Network was convinced that the show would do well. The story is set in a dystopian world where disconnected characters must survive through the night where committing a crime is legal for 12 hours, and the characters find that they are somehow interrelated as the episodes unfold. Unfortunately for those that enjoyed the thriller, the show was no longer renewed after the second season.
