When this series first appeared on Netflix, it was called controversial for the most part. Based on the book Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher, the story follows the story of a teenage girl who commits suicide, leaving a box of cassette tapes to character Clay Jensen, explaining the 13 reasons why she took her own life. While most claim that the series romanticized suicide, others claimed that it was an undivided look into the minds of teens and why they choose to do the things they do. Season four premiered on Netflix in June and it will be the very last season of the series.
