When you think about snails, you think about slugs that are in a shell that’s less than a few inches long. The word giant and snail don’t naturally belong in the same sentence. That is, until you see how large this one actually is. This African giant snail is large enough to make you cringe and wonder if it has been genetically modified. This is the largest land snail in existence, and is eight inches tall and four inches wide. It’ll fit in the palm of your hand perfectly and is large enough to trip you if you’re not careful.
