Japanese Spider Crab

If you enjoy eating this crustacean, then seeing the Japanese spider crab is sure to make you salivate. They live around the waters of Japan and can grow as long as 18 feet, claw to claw. As for its body, it can grow up to 16 inches wide. A fully-grown crab can weigh as much as 42 pounds, which is the largest of any known arthropod. Their armored body allows them to protect themselves from other predators and are actually masters of disguise. The ones caught, however, are served in some of the best restaurants and are sold at a high price because they are considered a delicacy.
